Senninger, applying its extensive experience in mechanized irrigation, has improved the i-Wob UP3 emitter by developing the new i-Wob2 model, whose main difference is a protective cover used as a nozzle holder.
Designed for long life in the field and with a three-year warranty on materials and performance, the Senninger i-Wob2 s aves pumping energy by requiring only 10 PSI (0.69 Bar) to operate.
It works optimally with a pressure range of 10 to 15 PSI, i.e. 0.69 to 1.03 Bar.
The new cover protects the emitter from wear and tear caused by splashing from other adjacent sprinklers, sand particles or direct sun damage. In addition, it also serves as a nozzle holder, which makes changing nozzles (on dual-letter systems) quick and easy.
To select the most suitable droplet size and trajectory according to installation, soil type, crop, etc., the Senninger i-Wob2 sprinkler is available with four different deflectors.
Senninger i-Wob emitters should always be installed upside down with downspouts or drops, at the end of an outlet connection that has a minimum of 60 centimeters of flexible hose from the thermoplastic or galvanized steel bend and should never be located below 90 centimeters ground clearance.
When using the threaded aluminum or plastic counterweight, make sure that it is securely threaded to the bottom of the i-Wob to prevent it from coming off. If another type of conventional counterweight is to be used on top of the i-Wob, either plastic or steel, it must be properly secured to prevent it from moving or slipping during watering, which could cause premature wear or breakage of the downspout assembly.
The i-Wob emitters should be kept above the crop canopy when the spacing of the Pivot outlets is greater than 3 meters. This is especially important in high profile crops.
Whenever the unfavorable slope at any point of the field with respect to the base of the Pivot is equal to or greater than 20% of the nominal pressure, it is essential to install pressure regulators that guarantee a constant outlet pressure in all the emitters.
It is recommended to use with this and any other emitter, only the larger nozzles, i.e. the higher flow rates, only in soils that can accept higher application rates.
